Can any one tell me what makes a 02 go bad

They just go bad, the heater fails or they just stop measuring O2 properly. They just have a tuff job, sniffing read hot exhaust all the time it’s a wonder they work at all. If you car is out of emission warrantee new OEM brand ones can be had for about $70 at sparkplugs.com

I don't know what causes failures but do know that I had one replaced yesterday at the dealership because of a CEL and was very happy that my car has the extended emissions warranty - $579! When it starts being on my tab, it will get the aftermarket one and I will do the wrenching

I was told at the dealership it was because of the aftermarket Exhaust system ?

Heat/mileage/carbon build up esp. if your car is running a little rich. It's a relatively easy fix with simple tools. Science of Speed sells aftermarket ones at a good $$ and they are plug n play.
