I've posted to this forum only a handful of times but I do read it faithfully at least an hour a day for years now. I recall a while back that there was a discussion about why the Ferrari 360 sounds so sweet compared to, say, a corvette or other american V8....and the answer was that they have a 180 degree crank instead of a 360 degree crank...but the difference between the two was never explained in detail...can anyone elaborate on the difference? Which does the NSX have?

I see a lot of them around and they do have the nicest sound this side of Tochigi....I would say it's probably my second favorite car next to the NSX...not that I can afford to pay cash for either of them just yet but I've finished paying the school loans off so it's hopefully on the horizon.

I just took a photo in the $452,500(list) McLaren SLR at the local MB dealer(too large to attach)....they were asking $700k and got $620 for it. Seemed like a heavy cruiser to me, for that price I'd much rather have two NSXs(one stock one track rat) and a house to keep them in!

Well, i don't have much mechanical insight, but yesterday I was driving next to a 355 down Sunrise Blvd and he came flying by me and I got a good earful of his car and I'll take the sound of my NSX over that 355. <zips up flame suit>

The 355 does sound beautiful, but i just love the sound of my NSX. The 355 is 10x's nicer sounding than the 360.

...yeah, for the most part the 355 looks better than the 360 too, I just assumed that the newer model must be better from a functional/performance standpoint.

can anyone explain the difference between 180/360 crankshafts? Plllllease?
