Actually, the most commonly used rear tire size, 265/35-18, is usually approved for use on rims 9.0-10.5 inches wide, so you can use those, although they'll look a bit stretched. I'd go with 255/35-18 instead (or a wider wheel).

Previously as I stated... I ran a 18x9.5 with a 255 35 18.
A couple sets of wheels ago, YES I had a 18x10 with a 225 40 because thats what ScaranNSX advised me to try in a PM in order to run a 0 offset rear wheel. BUT, NO that was not an 18x9.5 that was a 18x10. Yet again, that was 2 sets of wheels ago.
