I have been the proud owner of this ‘92 NSX for the past 9 years. I originally purchased it from another NSX Prime member who was local to me in Raleigh, NC. It had 64,500 miles on it at that time. I have never taken this car to the track and have only driven it ~4000 miles per year since I purchased it. I hate to sell it, but last year I moved to Atlanta, GA and do not have room for it here. It is still in the garage at my house in Raleigh, NC.
The car is in great condition, extremely reliable, and 100% up to date on all maintenance. As expected it has been an amazing car and has only had one major issue....the dreaded snap-ring failure back in 2009. The outer transmission case was replaced with a new (updated) one and there have been no issues since. Other than that there have only been minor issues here and there. The oil was always changed with 10W-30 full synthetic motor oil every 2500-3000 miles
Within the last year (~500 miles), I went through the entire car to make sure it was ready for the next owner. The following is a list of what was done. All replacement parts were new Acura OEM or Science of Speed upgrades.
- Replaced timing belt w/ adjuster pulley and spring
- Replaced water pump, thermostat, and every coolant hose on the entire car (over 20 hoses)
- Replaced crankshaft pulley and all drive belts
- Performed valve adjustment. Replaced VTEC lost motion assemblies, valve cover gaskets, and VTEC spool filters
- Replaced fuel filter, air filter, and spark plugs
- Replaced trunk struts, engine hatch glass struts, and tail light gaskets
- Replaced brake master cylinder, flushed brake system, and bled clutch slave cylinder
- Only OEM Honda filters, transmission oil, and coolant was used.
As you can see in the pictures, this NSX does have some modifications but most are very minor and easily reversible if the new owner wants a more original car. Below is the complete list of modifications.
- GT-One N1 exhaust
- Topspeed Pro-1 headers
- Downforce intake scoop
- Dali Racing aluminum coolant expansion tank (black powder coat)
- Advan RS wheels - dark gunmetallic (17x8 +37 | 18x10 +35)
- Dunlop Star Spec ZII tires (215/40-17 | 265/35-18)
- Bilstein HD shocks (w/ stock springs on lower perch)
- McGard SplineDrive lug nuts (black)
- Science of Speed lost motion assemblies (LMAs)
- Science of Speed aluminum cam plugs
- Science of Speed window regulator guides
- Science of Speed stainless e-brake button
- Gruppe-N stainless shift knob
- Guppy short antenna
- Coverking Autobody Armor car cover
What’s wrong with the car (because no car is perfect)?
- The radio does not work. I have replaced or had repaired all the Bose speakers/amps, so the head unit is the only thing left to investigate.
- The turn signals do not always turn off automatically after making a turn.
- The steering wheel is not pointed perfectly straight when driving straight (but is very close). This is due to the left-hand inner tie rod end being seized inside the outer tie rod end. This was discovered during the last alignment and I had the choice to either have the car misaligned or the steering wheel slightly angled...I opted for the slightly angled wheel. To fix this would require purchasing new tie rod ends and getting another alignment.
- As you can see in the pictures, the driver’s side seat is a bit worn and the carpet has a few stains. There are also a few paint chips here and there.
What comes with the car?
Stock exhaust, headers, intake scoop, shift knob, spare tire, shocks (if you want them), antenna
What does not come with the car?
Stock wheels
History of body work
The clear coat on the roof started getting cloudy so I had it and both the A/B pillars repainted. I also had the rear spoiler repainted and various chips touched up. The work was done professionally by a local shop with NSX experience. The pictures speak for the quality of work.
I have posted a some pictures below this list, but more can be found here....Flickr - 1992 Acura NSX
Since I am currently living in Atlanta, GA while the car is still located in my house in Raleigh, NC, I will be driving up to show the car myself. However, because of this distance please, serious inquiries only.
