1995 OBD2 SS Box BBSC ?

Guys,

I need some help. For those of you with OBD2 cars, when you turn your key to the on position, does the Check Engine Light come on for 2 seconds and then go away or does it just flicker?

When I take the SS Box out of the loop, the CEL comes on for 2 seconds and goes off. (self check).

With the SS Box in the loop, it just flickers once really fast and I never see it again. It is like it is skipping the self-check.

Is that normal??

PS. I called SS and they said not to worry about it as long as the car isn't throwing CEL codes while driving it.

mine just flickers on for an instant. Mark basch tried trouble shooting it for a while and could not get it to come back to the normal 2 sec. deal with the ssbox in line.

FWIW (not much probably) i just did emissions today, and they do plug into the obd2 port, and didn't say a word to me, so i guess it must give the normal signal at the port

Thanks! That makes me feel much better. I guess I just want to be sure everything is still functioning correctly. (OBD2 wise) and that if there is a problem I will still get a CEL.
