$2,500 brand new car

Wow, that thing looks like a shopping cart with fenders and a hood... I can envision a lot of rookie drivers running around in those.

If they made that thing electric I'd buy it in a second. The city I live in is very Electric Vehicle friendly and I woudn't mind tooling around town in that little "car".

With a couple of young teenagers in the house, I could see getting one of these in a few years for the oldest. I (and my bank account) could tolerate fender benders more after putting out $2500 more so than $15000+ for any low end sedan currently available in the US. My only conern would be the safety rating.

I wouldnt want to drive long distances on the donuts but if you had a 5 mile drive to work, why not? Cheaper payments, cheap on gas, and the ability to drive on sidewalks.

Of course, gdae can do that in his Civic already.

From Slashdot:

"Lets be real. How effective is a 30HP car going to be moving the typical fatass American family weighing in at ~1000lbs total".

LOL. Just what we need. Stupidly slow drivers in ridiculously slow cars on the road!!

But before I stick my nose up too high you know.... Roll cage, A Arms, Hubs, Double adjustables, axles, tranny, engine swap, ecu, cooling, widebody, wheels, tires, brakes .... could be fast.

Add a twin turbo and you could have almost 3X the HP.

What a piece of crap. It will probably sell well in India where traffic congestion is so bad that you rarely go faster than 35 MPH. However I don't see if ever being sold in Europe or US. It is meant for India and Africa. I doubt even China would buy it.
