2000 ECU same as 2005?

Is it the same p/n? Then.. yes. It's possible the 2005 may have some updates, and then that would be good news but if it's the same p/n, I wouldn't worry about it.

Too lazy to check :)

Part numbers.

I'm sure "LarryB" will know but if you can't find out go to "NSXCB" and ask
"kzukNA1", Kaz, he worked on the development tean in J A Pan on the NSX program and he knows all the model changes by code numbers i've never seen before. He has posted some info on that subject and there're several generations of ECU through out the years and he knows!
Tell him "nigel" told you to ask him.
Also, the last three digits in a Honda p/n designate changes, (modifications) to a particular part. It may have the same first five numbers in the p/n but the last three will let you know if there has been any modifications to the original part. Obviously the centre three, "SLO" designate "NSX".
Cheers
nigel

just go to yahoo and do a search for acura parts online delray and you will find delray acura's online website. from there you can look up any nsx part number for any year you want. i am 70% sure you will find that they are different part numbers as the 05 nsx was low emission (LEV) and i don't belive the 2000's were (i thought that change ocurred in 01. but it might have happend in 2000. (the change included air injection, air pump, different cats and exhaust)

isn't there a 'hearsay' that ulev models make 5-10hp as they run leaner? so far i only know about the cats heating up faster.

I am pretty sure 00-05 are all LEV, however according to the part number, 05 ECU is different from 00.

37820-PBY-A08 - 00
37820-PBY-A23 - 05

There you go. The 2nd part of the question is whethre it's swappable.. I think they should be.. if your'e willing to take the additional "risk" of running a bit learner. For stock applications with decent gas and > 0C climate, I wouldn't worry about it..

i would not even try swapping them if they are different part numbers. Different part numbers mean that the parts ARE different. it could be something major or as minor as the same ecu with different software based on the weight differences (distribution) of an 05 car (revised styling) versus an 00 car (heaver pop up headlights). think this is trivial, it is not, the nsx has drive by wire throutle and how it reacts when you step off the gas is part of the ecu tune for the car and the off throttle response WAS changed over the years (just one example). OR the change in part number could be major and it wont even start your car. either way, why chance or experiment , get the right part.

Not that this helps you specificly:redface: but the bee as a data point , currently I have my 96 ecu/wiring harness running a 00 3.2 liter motor. No cels(thanks Larry B) We just removed the ulev air tubes/piping.I have not dynoed this setup but to my butometer feels fine.So the ecu is pretty tractable.

Late NA2, AKA NA2LEV started in 2000. That is why Honda change the Cats and exhaust connecting point.

As for the part number:
Is there a different part number between Coupe, T, and Auto?
