The first and fifth seasons were amazing...second through fourth not as much, but were still entertaining and worth watching. Season six lost me...and, if the upcoming season isn't strong from the get go, I probably won't continue watching the show. Sad but true.
i love the show, its the only "series" style show i watch, the show is so incredible, but i feel so empty now, and im frusterated every stinkin time they play a rerun on fox, we need a new seashon, its been too long!!!

I hate waiting for installments. I typically never watch a single minute of a series, wait until the boxed DVD set comes out, and watch the whole thing in a marathon session.
Just did this with Band of Brothers.
I should add that season five was the first that I had to watch as it aired because I didn't start watching 24 until a friend lent us the first season on DVD. It is a very different experience being forced to wait a week for each hour...they sustain the suspense so well that the show is infinitely more intense when watching each episode back-to-back. In fact, it's hard to stop watching once you start. "Just one more episode"...you'll keep telling yourself. And then you scream when you run out of shows to watch. I'm pretty sure my wife and I watched at least one of the seasons (or a good majority of it) over a single weekend.
The production values are high enough that I also preferred watching the DVD over standard-def broadcast TV. Of course, now that I have HDTV and 5.1 surround over digital cable, I have no reason to watch the DVD releases (unless we're talking Blu-ray).
