Anyone else excited to see this movie? It's a stylized version of Frank Miller's graphic novel of the Battle of Thermoplyae. I've always been fascinated by this particular battle ever since reading about it in junior high. And having been introduced to Frank Miller's work by the movie, Sin City, I'm really looking forward to this movie as well.

Cliffs of the Battle of Thermoplyae: as many as 2,600,000 Persians are coming to attack the Greek City-States and 7,000 Greeks (w/ 300 Spartans) stand in their way.

Should be an entertaining movie!

I own the graphic novel, and am also eagerly awaiting this movie!

Been waiting for this since I saw the trailer last fall. Looks fantastic.

Yeah, this one has been on my list for a while. What an amazing story. Talk about the heart of a warrior.

Looking forward to this on an IMAX screen. Opens at the local IMAX on 3/9. That should be beyond amazing. This better live up to the hype!!

I found this review on another forum, it had me laughing my ass off:

You can download the trailer in HD on PS3.. The visuals are stunning.

i just love how the director took shot by shot from the actual graphic novel.. there's some side by side shots of the movie from the actual graphic novel on the website... its amazing ~!!!

I haven't been excited about a movie in a long time, but I am for this one.

I think it's even going to IMAX if I'm not mistaken. I might go all out and see it there, not sure where it would be playing around here; I don't believe the Children's Museum will be sponsoring that one..

See my post #11. It's in IMAX.

watched it... loved it (for specific reasons).... definitely an entertaining movie... the theaters were packed at midnight! definitely a revenue maker for sure....

a few awkward bits... technically speaking... but man... those damn abs

The DVD is a must have when it comes out. Watched it last night. Awesome.

Hi

I am also looking forward to this movie. I saw the post here some time ago with the trailers.

It will take a while until it shows up on the big screen here in Norway.

Please do not post any spoilers or at least give a heads up if you do please

Regards

I just saw it at IMAX. Damn the hype machine and the steam piston engine it runs on! It was a good movie, but my expectations were so high, I couldn't help but leave from the theater disappointed. The visuals were unbelievable though. Every single frame of the movie is desktop wallpaper worthy. Serioulsy!

like i said... a few technical aspects of the movie COULDA been improved... but still well worth the watch...

and yes... each shot is a WALLPAPER worthy scene

I was pretty much about to post the same thing. Visually, the movie was an orgasm for the eyes (I also saw it in IMAX), but the story.... ha!! CHEEZY!!! Loved the attacking dinosaurs, golems, and really if Xerxes found a way around, why waste time with the 300 Spartans, just go after his original goal, Sparta. The ending royally sucked. But the visuals.... oh... the visuals!!

you unfortunately missed the whole point by a mile. Maybe the graphics are fantastic, but there is more to the story than meets the eye in the real story.
