727 HP Mustang for under 40K

The new mustang is really an incredible platform. But don't tell the owners here that! Lol

I'd love to get on the list for a 350R but that's going to be virtually impossible without some ridiculous markup.

This Roush version is like a Yenko. Pretty cool. I wonder if you can order it with the magna ride suspension.

It's definitely a great bang for the buck. But at that price, some more kids will buy it and drive it well above their skill level and we'll see more videos of Mustangs in crowds or slamming into curbs, trees, other cars etc. If it's not a Mustang, it'll be one of the other bang for the buck machines out there that offer cheap HP that requires more than two to three years driving experience, an I'm indestructible attitude and more HP means I'm faster than you....let me show you. Also, the only cars that can handle 700+ HP on anything that isn't a drag strip are made in Italy or Germany and cost over $500 to $1000K. Even on straight drag strips these cars require a certain amount of skill to control them. All that said, they are definitely cool and would make a great addition to the stable. I have a lot of Mustang friends that I hang with.

Good point. I wonder how insurance rates are on them
I would assume they would be similar to normal Mustang GT rates. I don't believe dealerships are required to report power gains and mods to insurance agents, only you if you want it covered in the even of an incident.

(My advice for a solution to the insurance price hike that historians claim helped kill musclcars in the early '70's is to just go order some 6-cyl camaro and take it home......then drop an over-the-counter 427 in it. Insurance would be no problem)

I have said it before - passenger cars need less HP :P

I was late to that discussion....."But, WTF did you just say?!" (Thanks P.D.)

Was thinking the same thing.....these things need to come with a three day course on how to drive them....YouTube is full of videos of idiot mustang drivers crashing by simply pulling out of a parking lot trying to show off....

That has got to be one of my most favorite ideas I have ever heard.

Make a clause in the sales work for any buyer with less than 10 years driving experience must provide an additional "x" dollars to attend a professional driving school/how to brake properly.

Great idea, and I'm not joking in the least(no matter how unrealistic is sounds).
