I got my 90k service done and my new SOS sport clutch installed.
Grand imports(www.grandimports.net) in austin did a fabulous job with my car. Grand Imports was near my other half's job and i gave them a call. The entire staff was friendly and Scott Caffey did all the work to my car. He was fast but at the same time took his time. I was super nervous when i saw the car in pieces but once i found out who Scott was i calmed down a little. I dropped the car off Tues at and got it back around 2pm today. No issues whatsoever and it felt good to know it had been serviced(even thought most of the parts they replaced look just as good as the new ones). Total price for 90k service and clutch was 1900, that was labor, i had all the parts already

The new SOS sport clutch is great. It has light pedal and the lightweight flywheel is great. Gonna take some getting used to the flywheel but it feels good. Nice clutch for the price and a no-brainer for a stock replacement.

Here are some pics

Thanks for the info. I'm looking at a clutch replacement now, and will be buying the SOS one, so it's good to see another good review.

I just installed my SOS Sport Clutch about a month ago. Best decision ever!

How did your old timing belt look? How old/miles was it?

Great looking car by the way!

Thats the old timing belt in my hand. My car has 53k miles and its a 2000. Hard to tell the old one from the new one, we saw no real damage or signs of wear. Most of all the old parts are in box pictured. Everything looked good except the TB tensioner and the spark plugs. I looked to be throwing grease but nothing was on the inside of the cover. The OEM clutch was complete toast.
Does anyone know if i need to break the clutch in?

Thanks for the compliment

As a general rule you should be easy on it for the first few hundred miles (300-500)

Chris may have a more definative mileage based on actual results.

I have always done my clutch breakins with a lot of stop and go around 500 miles +. Ofcourse some of that was highway shifting eat.

David usually years catch before miles. Unless your NSX is a daily driver you can run either 50/50 between the 90K servicing with the years. Average miles per year are based on maximum 12-15k miles a year for Daily drivers.

Another example of how bulletproof the OEM timing belt is. 11 year old car, 53k miles and it looks like new.

Super good decision on the clutch. I had Shad put one in mine about 1 1/2 ago. It is difficult to get used to after having such a crappy clutch for so long. Shift gears often and dont do any long freeway driving. I was shifting from 5-4-3 then back up when I was on the freeway even for a couple of exits. It is super smooth and engages quickly. You are going to love it.
