91-01 vs 02-05 Front bumper reinforcement bar

In the process of doing a 02+ front end conversion. I have read posts on people reusing the reinforcement bar and others said you should change it.

For those of you that changed it....did you ever compare the two? I had my body shop order the reinforcement bar and when it came in, it looked identical. I double checked the part number and even had the dealership sent me another reinforcement bar. They were all identical.

I have read the the bolt patterns and offsets were different. That the 02 brackets wont fit on the 91-01 bar and vice versa. They just looked identical.

They havent tried fitting it on just yet, but I was hoping someone on Prime can chime in. Id like to save $500.00 if its really not needed.

I've read that you can use the old reinforcement bar, but has anyone actually compared the two? They look identical to me. I made sure the part number is right. The dealer sent me 2, and they are the same.....

Last 3 of the part number is 010.

Yes. If I remember right, just the brackets are different. The upper aluminum stay that hold the top of the bumper is definitely different though.

If I can remember right, the 02-05 bumper beam has two bracket welded on for the horns and the 91-01 only have one horn bracket.

The 91-01 beam will work for the conversion.
