97 RL Check Engine Light after 5 min idle

Hi all,

My 97 RL's CEL came on after idle for about 5 minutes and now it doens't want to be turned off ... any suggestion as to what might went wrong? Thanks!

Yup, your cats are bad, or your O2 sensor I bet.

You may still be covered by the emission warrantee call the dealer and find out. May save you $$$. Otherwise go to any auto parts store and they will read the trouble codes and then come back here with codes for advice.

O2 sensor about $75, if it's the cats....a lot. Try to used ones.

Thanks for the advice! I contacted the Acura dealer and it is under the emission warranty! I brought the car in today and will see what's the issue. It is under the 98-031 warranty extention.
