A/C only blows on high speed...what do I replace?

My blower motor only blows when the right fan dial is on auto and the left temp dial is on the coldest setting, or when I turn the right fan dial on its highest fan setting.

In other words, it doesn't gradually blow more air as I turn the temp down, or the fan speed up.

Any thoughts on what I need to replace - the blower motor perhaps?

You can replace the climate control board with a new one from the dealer about $900 list price.

...or you can just get it to Brian, like so many of us have done, for a quick, prefessional repair. Oh yeah...he does Bose amps as well. Ask how I know

i just had a similar problem, fan only blowing on high, got a fixed cc board from brian, it works fine now.highly recommended.do a search, you'll find he has helped many of us here on prime.

Plus one as my CCU will be in route to Brian next week.

Makes me wonder in for my 19 yr old NSX what else can randomly fail and if it fails does it fail safe.

reviving. briank, my climate control needs rebuilding. not necessary, but i'd rather than not. pm sent!

my climate control last night just blew on high....it was the first time it was used in few years...but this morning it is working fine...does anyone know if this problem could be intermittent or if it goes it goes...basically I reached out to brian k and have not heard from him as of yet and want to know if I should be proactive and just send it out or wait...any thoughts????

When a capacitor dies, it can leak slowly over a long period of time....or it can all of a sudden go 'pift'.

Time for your CCU to take a trip to Wisconsin I think ;^D

Brian

I had a similar problem with my a/c last year and my ccu was fine, my relay need to be changed and it was something near the blower. For the life of me I cant remember what it was called.
I would check the ccu first and go from there.

update.... as promised by brian got unit today...reinstalled and like new...a true asset to our community please do not hesitate and use any of his services.....could not be more satisfied...

My a/c works just fine and the control unit seems to be in good working order, EXCEPT, when I use the heater.

Setting the control to "auto" at 90 (max) degrees and it blasts out , if I lower the dial to even 89 degrees, the fan lowers to barely a breath of air flow.

It does not do this weird thing on the cooling a/c mode.

Ideas?

The ccu keeps the fan speed down until the coolant warms up, no reason to blow cold air when you want heat.

I think he was saying that it is doing that after the car is already warmed up. Mine does the same thing. I can manually adjust the fan speed to where i want it, but if it's set to auto it doesn't seem to work correctly.

OK run the test procedure and check for a sensor issue. The sensors don't fail so its most likely a problem on the CCU control board that is not reading the signal properly.

I have the same problem. What relay are you talking about?

Yes, same question, what do you mean, and how do I "run the test procedure and check for a sensor issue"?

Thank you for the help!
