I would like to share my opinion about the Azenis 615's and the Yokohama ao32 and A048. Most of my driving on these has been at the track with these with little street use. I felt that the 615 out performed my ao32 and a048 in almost every way, from launching, to full out better cornering g's. I also feel it had a lot better corner exit grip with much better tire wear. Also the heat up was much faster. Biggest complaint was that they get greasy after too much heat(drifting) . The Ao48 shinned in high speed braking where as the ao32 sucked the whole time. Im posting because i feel it strange that the R-rated Ao32 was inferior to a "street tire" almost the whole time. My tire sponsor assures me i am wrong but has anyone else had this experience? Ive switched to the Ao48 on the street and am not super impressed with them either. Race tires are hoosier r6's which i havent yet driven on and am hoping they are the best yet, but who knows?

Huh? Assuming the pavement isn't wet, the A048 easily outperforms the A032R, and the A032R easily outperforms the RT-615. (However, this order is reversed for treadwear only.)

However, when you talk about "launching", that may be different. The A048 and A032R are R compound track tires. They reach their full grip when hot, which takes part of a lap around a track. If you're at a dragstrip, the RT-615 might be better from a standing start, unless you can warm up the others. But the A048 and A032R are really not made for the dragstrip. They're made for the road course.

My experience is exactly the opposite of yours.

The A048 and A032R are track tires and are not really designed for the street. Aside from rapid treadwear, the biggest problem in using them on the street is their need for warming up, which they never really get on the street. They also don't give much warning before losing traction.

It's okay to use R comps on the street to get to and from the track, but other than that, you're better off with street tires.

The R6 should be better, but pretty much all of today's R compound track tires - of which there are many - are pretty darn good, and differences between them are small.

If your interest is a road course the Hoosier is the tire of choice. I ran S05's and RA1's on the same car, same day and the Hoosiers were 1 sec a lap faster. That said, if I were attending a DE and not a race I'd be on the RA1's. I can't speak to the other tires you have mentioned but I believe Ken has tried most.
