The ABS light on my 2003 has recently come on. It started off being intermittent, after 15 - 20 miles of driving, but now it is on all the time. I have found information on how to jump and read the code on the OBDI models, but can't seem to find information as to if it is possible to read the code(s) without a trip to the dealership. Is it possible to do this on the OBDII models?

You need an OBDII reader. You can buy one at an auto parts store for less than $75. Some will even let you borrow it to read the code(you have to put $75 down on it in case you were to run off with it but they refund it as soon as you bring it back). I bought one years ago and have used it many times to read codes and reset lights(for such things as EVAP, ie. wife/daughters leaving the gas cap loose). It has paid for itself many times over.

I actually have an Actron PocketScan tool. My first thought is that may read the code, so I took the book out and it does not say anything about ABS. I plugged it in anyway, and it came up no codes, but the light is still on.
