Hey guys

Need some help. I'm adding the JDM nav pod with the Kenwood 8" screen and Kenwood GPS. My question is do I need to tap that into the OEM strereo? I was curious as to how I hear the driving instructions if I don't. It looks like the GPS can be independent of the stereo system or is that not the case? Please help before I go any further.

Thanks!

I installed the Kenwood NAV with the LZ-702W screen this weekend into my Nav Pod.

I did not hook up the navigation sound to the stereo; it *may* be possible to do it through a cd changer input, but it is probably not worth the big hassel (to me anyway).

The 702W has a small speaker on its side. If you turn up the volume you can hear it, but not if you're also listening to the stock stereo. It is not loud enough from within the pod (the 702 anyways).

Good luck with it. The Kenwood Nav seems very good to me.

Great! I bought the LZ-800W as one of the posts said the 8" fits the pod better so hopefully it has a speaker too. My main concern was that I wanted to add an Alpine IPOD ida-x001 later and didn't want there to be a problem since I would be using different brands. Thanks for the help. This seems to be a very popular add on as of late. I'm just tired if trying to read maps in the dark when I go out of state for track events!
