I did a search and could not find the answer to my question. I bought a Clifford G5 security alarm for my NSX and I was wondering if this alarm or any other alarm allows the option to unlock the drivers side door when you disable the alarm? Then push the same button or a different button to unlock the passenger side door? In other words I would like to be able to unlock the doors independently of each other when I disarm the alarm.

Thanks in advance for all replies.

BTW, if anyone can reply in detail what steps to take I would appreciate it. I would especially like to hear from the NSX owners who have installed the Clifford G5.

Mike

There is a common drive to both locks on the NSX so not really feasible without a lot of work to isolate each lock cct. .
i.e. it's a function of the car, not the type of alarm.

Depends which model you have. According to this product matrix the Arrow 5 is the only one that does not include a second unlock output. Concept 450 and Intelliguard 750 models do.

You have to isolate the driver side unlock circuit from the passenger side. There's probably a clever way to do this with diodes if you can find the right wires. That's always a challenge with any alarm is finding the right wires. But the simplest way would be to route the primary lock/unlock output wires from the Clifford alarm into the driver side door and get at the unlock wire in the door that goes to the actuator itself. It's a reversing polarity system so you need relays. Man, the more I think about it, the harder and messier this is becoming. I could go some more into the details but it's pretty messy, I wouldn't be surprised if an installer charged you $200 or more to do this.

It can be done but like others mentioned it will take a lot of extra work. I'm with you, that is how I wanted my locks as well. By the way, is that an actual picture of your car in your avitar? You sure build up that thing fast. What else have you completed? I just bought the GT front 2002 front end from a local owner who had it on his white NSX so it will match my white perfect  That is actually a present to my brother.

Chris, I actually put that avatar together using the picture from Tirerack's wheel chooser. :D That said, I believe that it's days from looking like that. I'm eager to see it myself. Last time I saw a picture of it was on Autotrader. :D

Well Mike, I'll give you a couple extra months to fix that baby up. We scratched our vacation plans for the end of this year, but it looks like we will make it down sometime at the end of next March or early April (Whenever spring break is). My cousin in Torrance is getting married around that time. Hopefully I can see what you progress you have done. I wonder if Ben will still be in town. I'd love to check out the S2K. Hopefully we can call get together with Eric and the rest of the gang.
