Here is the Alpine CDA-7998 and Alpine CXA-B200NK Mobile Hub for the Nokia 6310i installed along with a Passport ZR3 Laser Shifter. The head unit matches the gauges and other stock illumination at night by the way.

The console is a stock piece that was modified and re-painted.
Not bad huh?

Very nice. Looks good. What exactly is the Passport Laser Shifter thing? Also what is that velcroed under the steering column part?

That is pretty impressive work on the original center console. Would like to see a couple more pics when you get a chance.

Did you consider painting the "door" (exposed edge) of the stereo when it's retracted, so that it would match the console?

Hugh, I'm planning on doing something similar with mine. Can you tell me what PAINT you used on the console?

The installer must have painted the console 8 times before he was satisified with the result. He blended the paint by hand and matched it by eye. It was sprayed on with an airbrush. I know he tried several tricks such as painting a silver layer before the topcoat. He's on vacation this week but I'll try to get more details when he gets back. I have more work for him. I got the Nav pod that's gonna house an Alpine TME-M760 hooked up to a DVD player.

Sound is great. I have 6.5" JL coaxials in the door and an 8" JL sub in the passenger footwell. I'm going to install a 4" coax between the seats in the factory location. This will be driven by the head units' rear outputs combined with a Y connector and fed through the Alpine center channel amp from the SBS-0715 speaker system.

Awesome. It seems a lot of folks are doing a very nice job reworking the console to fit various types of aftermarket equipment and making it look very stock. How it this achieved? A FAQ writeup on the process would be great.
