I originally was going try and keep the stereo upgrade in my NSX nice and simple, but as always I tend to go off the deep end at times. I started with the idea of running a tiny Sony XM4S under the glove box, but after auditioning it in my daily driver I decided it didn't deserve to be in the NSX.
I then picked up some Zapco REF amps. I was planning on running the REF360.4 behind the driver and a REF500.1 behind the passenger seat, but I was recently able to complete my set of old school Zapco competition amps which I feel would be more era correct in the NSX.
The plan is to run the tweeters off a Z100C2SL and the mids and my Zetoolbox V2 off a pair of Z200C2SLs.
Now my dilemma is amp placement in the trunk. Do I just do plain old sunny side up orientation with a cover and fan cooling, or do I go over easy and expose the amp guts with an acrylic cover and fan cooling?
The second Z200C2SL that powers the sub will have to be on either the drivers side or passenger side of the trunk.
Suggestions and input are welcome.
Thanks.
Otto
