antenna options

in need of an after market antenna...... with the addition of a Kenwood double din and still using the Bose spaeakers, i would like to switch to an aftermarket antenna rather than having the stock antenna always up....

please suggest.....thanks....dave

I just unplugged mine. It still gets about 80% of the reception. You can always pull it up a little if to get better signal but even all the way down, I get 5/6 of the local stations.

There are two antennas in the NSX - the retractable on and the one in the rear glass. The one in the glass works fine on local stations with a strong signal. That's why you get most of the stations with the antenna mast retracted.

PS I also have the Shark Attack II on my car. I'm happy with it, but the retractable mast did work better in the occasional fringe anreas.

You can convert the stock automatic antenna to a manual power antenna. Then you can control any height you want through a momentary dpdt switch.
