Antenna Questions

I had my OEM antenna removed when I got the car repainted. I will be doing an upgrade on my stereo since my OEM just crapped out. Is there an aftermarket hidden antenna anyone can suggest that gets reception close to the OEM antenna? Also, would I have to attached in the truck off of the OEM wire, or can I attached off of an aftermarket head unit?

There's a wire which extends from your stereo location to the rear quarter panel, it's a standard antenna wire, which is compatible with most aftermarket head units.

Did you remove the hole when the car was repainted?

Yeah, i had to OEM antenna hole shaved off for a cleaner look. I didnt think I would need radio since I was always using the ipod. But since I will be getting a new stereo unit, might as well see if I can get some radio function back.

You don't need an antenna if you have a smart phone right? Just download an app like "I Heart Radio" and listen to whatever radio station you want.

As long as it's not sandwiched between to metal panels, you're fine. Look on the FAQ on their site.
