Antenna switch question

On the oem stereo harness is there a wire that I can tap into and install a switch to activate/de-activate power to the antenna motor?

If so what colors am i looking for?

The pink/white wire from the head unit provides a power on signal to both the amplifier power relay and the antenna. Putting the switch in the pink/white wire will allow you to trick the antenna controls into acting like the head unit has been switched off. Just make sure you locate the switch after the amplifier power relay, otherwise you will lose power to your amplifiers when you open the switch.

I just found a whole thread on it. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I can pick up that wire in the footwell.

Just installed Pioneer AVX8500 dbl din and also a stubby antenna. Radio reception is awful. Have small wire from antenna tapped into pink/white wire in trunk. Don't know what to check. Any suggestions? Also, do u know what the 8 pin connection is on back of the Bose unit?
