Wondering if any NA2 six speed tranny guys have these two modes ( apparently they have to be used together ) and what they think of them. Also any problems at all?

You may want to PM ak. IIRC, he's got the six speed and OSG. He's also got a mean case of the herpes so if he's in a foul mood, you know why. ;)

I have this combination on my 2002 6-speed. Ordered it from MJ at Dali. When Jon Martin delivered me the car with the OSG 4.44 LSD...I hated his guts!!!!!!!

It was the worst mod I had ever had. Ever. It clanked. It sputtered. It slipped. It was jerky, unpredictable, and the worst thing is that it did all this in the parking lot as people watched in horror as if my car was coming apart.

And then, I started launching my car HARD out of corners...and that's all she wrote. S-A-W-E-E-T! Even with the added power, the LSD just catapults the NSX from corners. With the sticky Falken Azenis Jon recommended (BEST tires I've ever had across 8 brands I've tried over 17 years with NSX), even the 3.8L's extra power doesn't allow slip out of the corners. And soon the chatter from the grabby clutch paks will simmer down after we change from the break-in tranny fluid to the street fluid that diminishes chatter and improves drivability. As Jon promised, once I learned how to lock and unlock the diff at will, I now can't live without it. I just launch from corners like that slingshot effect we all aim for. I owe Jon a steak dinner :)

So is it streetable?

I had the Mugen unit on my NA1 NSX-R and it was the same experience. Soon you learn to launch it and it is not that bad. Still if you don't keep the rpms going it will clunk a bit when crawling.

Great mod IMHO.

Cheers,

I installed the 6 speed with the Giken in AK's car. It is awesome. Took me a few miles to get used to it, but once I did, the dif really works well. The giken(in Ak's car set to 1.5 stiffness IIRC) is a little tough when parking and turning full lock, just because at parking lot speed it is a locked dif, but for all other things it is great.

Didn't know Mugen made one I'll have to check Kingmotorsports

As long as you don't mind the slow speed "BAM! BAM!" sounds, your passenger asking "WTF was that?" and the gear whine(depends on your exhaust volume, it'd be more pronounced.) it's all good.

-ak

PS. Ponyboy, don't take your anger out on me just because your new kid kinda sorta looks like Ojas :D

Ti Dave has this setup and is currently working on an oil that will quiet the unit

For diff oil on the OSG, the consensus is that the Motul Gear FF Competition 75w140 is the stuff to use. $26 bones per liter though.

LSD aside, anyone take the time to come up with a speed/gearing chart for the OS 4.44 (ideally stacked next to the 6spd stockies, 4.23, and 4.55 final drives)

Would be a useful addition to the wiki.
