You are going to have some serious problems with 19" in front, and even 18" in front. Specifically:

- susceptibility to damage from potholes
- performance suffers from larger tire diameter
- performance suffers from greater weight of wheels AND tires
- tire choices are few for 18", even fewer for 19"
- tires and wheels are more expensive
- traction control may be a problem, depending on the tire sizes you choose.

If this is for a show car that you tow from show to show, and you don't care about practicality, by all means go for the big wheel look! But if you plan to drive your car on the street or on the track, there are lots of reasons to use wheels no larger than 17" in front, and 18" in rear. Tire sizes that are commonly used for these wheel sizes are 215/40-17 front and either 255/35-18 or 265/35-18 in the rear.

I agree with the above statements. You should also check Mikes post here on problems he has had with big wheels.

I know of one person who had 19's up front...and he was in Portland.

he was running 215's. for tires.

TCS was all out of wack, so he never used it.

call Mike Willis at America's Tire in Tigard. Tell him that Allen Wu sent you and was wondering about Taner's NSX with the 19's up front.

he'll be the one to tell you all the details on the set-up.

I'm running 18"/19" right now, and I would imagine that 19"s up front would be a pain in the butt!

I'm running 225's up front and 275's in the rear. once my rear tires are burned up, I will be going 285's...

I'm running 18x8's and don't really have much of a lip. maybe 1"-1.5" in the front. My wheels were designed to fit a big brake kit and not for a large lip. maybe 2-2.5" lip in the rear.

the only rubbing issues I have on the front are when I turn the wheel to full lock, and even then, I only rub the inner splash guard on the passenger side. I'm pretty sure I can get rid of this with a little more caster.

my car is lowered with tein RE suspension, with about 2 finger gapping between the 18"s and the fender.

good luck.

Thanks X-TNSIV for youre time i can only get 1.5 lip front and 2.25 or 3.5 rear so is 2.25 okay or shuld i go with 3.5 in rear and do have a pix of youre wheels can you help i just got my car a week a go and steal dont know if shuld i get RA or RE tein only $150 more thanks for youre help

Im running 18x8 front with 225/35/18's and 19x10 rear with 275/30/19's. I love the look. I think 285 wouldn't look right. Just my preference, but I like the small curved looked of the side wall with my 275.
Also, I'm having rubbing issues with the 225's up front, but I think that's because my wheels sit very flush with the fenders and my car's lowered almost 2 inches.
A quick measurement with my finger shows no finger gap in the front and half a finger gap in the rear. :D
If your car is going to be lowered with anything more then Eibachs, I'd go with 215/35/18's.
btw, I have 1 inch lip front, 3.5 rear.

if you have the extra $ then get the Tein RE's. it has a dual adjustable threads...one for the spring and one for the body of the strut. the threaded strut body, allows you to raise or lower your car without changing the preload settings of the springs...

I like deeper rear lips, but you must decide if you will ever be doing a big brake kit as well. I didn't think I would at first, but then found out how terrible the NSX brakes were, so I had to buy new wheels.

sorry, no pics right now...I will be taking come very soon, since I just got my new digital camera yesterday.

I can probably get you a better deal on your wheels through Mike at America's tire. try calling him and let him know I sent you.
