Hi there, I'm looking at a 94 nsx 85k miles, magnaflow exhaust, ssr gt-0 evo 18" (f/r) wheels, located in the south bay. Just came back from looking at the car, even test drove it. Owner was looking for a firm offer but I couldn't make up my mind without first taking it to a bodyshop and the mechanic for a check up, since I'm no expert in either. For one, I thought the steering wheel was off by couple degrees, which the owner attributed to the road camber. In addition he confirmed that the car hasn't been aligned for the duration of his ownership (whole 6 years?!).
anyway, i was wondering if there's anyone that might be free tomorrow to accompany me to take another look at the car and give me some advice?

If you can arrange it, I totally agree with the Foreign Affair suggestion.

Otherwise... where about in the south bay is it located? There are Prime members scattered all over the area. Knowing where it is located might help scare up an offer of help.

indeed that's what i had in mind also, but the owner has another buyer coming in on saturday, my guess is he's just holding out for a better offer. i originally gave a soft $26.5k, and then $27.5k, but that's on the condition the car checks out with the body shop and mechanical inspection, and he was looking for a firm offer with no conditions. My feeling is that if the car's good the seller would have no problem with that, so maybe there's something he's not telling?

with the 18" wheels, are they worth anything? they don't really fit my taste. it's got new rubber on the back and 90% on the front. probably difficult to find a buyer for these?

the car's located off of 85 and 87 intersection (not sure what the area's called).

Yes, he sounds (or at least acts) like a man with something to hide. I'd be leery of buying without an inspection at this point.

If he's put 18" wheels front & rear, you may not find a single buyer since the normal configuration is smaller in the front, and larger in the rear. But, at the right price, someone out there will most likely be interested in getting a pair.

I believe the 85/87 area is commonly known as the "Almaden" area. There are a couple of locals who are not too far from there I believe. I'm south of there on 101.

It's not on my normal route, but I could arrange to go home via a route that would take me past there this evening... probably some time between 4:30 and 5:30 if that time happened to work for all involved parties.

NEVER buy without a PPI. If he has another buyer, let him sell it. Do not be pressured into making a bad decision.

shucks, missed your post, appreciate your offer. I think I'll pass on this car after all. Seller of another car I looked at before, a '98 with 63k miles, actually just got in touch with me and wanted to work something out. Don't like the t-top but I like overall quality of the newer and lesser mile car more. Plus I already had this one checked out by Foreign Affair and just need to swing by the body shop to have my guy look over it.

yeah that is the smarter, or perhaps the only, thing I should do. It's just so hard when you're standing there looking at this beautiful car and thinking to yourself "oh man i could have this right now!!".

That sounds like a wise decision in this case.

And, when it's 80° and sunny out... you'll learn to like the targa top.
