okay, i realize that larger wheels will potentially rub the fender liners at full rotation of the steering wheel, but has anyone experienced the tire actually rubbing the frame? i am only running 17" in the front with 40profile tire, and the tire has burned through the liner on the inner most point of contact. this has resulted in a fairly sharp portion of the frame to become exposed.

what's strange is i've always thought the wheel looked as if it sat more toward the back of the wheelwell than the front. hmm...

is that normal? or should it appear completely centered within the wheelwell?

i'll try to post pics tonight.

thanks for any feedback.

Yup, noticed it on both sides. The tire rubs the wheel well liner and removed it in football shaped spots. Now you can notice the metal underneath, almost brushed aluminum looking. :D

J,

I am running 18's with 35 series in the front and presently my tires rub the frame just a mere tad. I did have a sharp point to develop to so I grinded it back down and painted this area black so it is inconspicuous. Oh, the sharp point did cut my tire a little , but not any more :) I have had my liners removed and my fender coated with bed liner.

Ty,

I hear bed liner doesn't prevent inverted rock dings to the fender. What's your experience?

Thanks,

Z,

I hope it doesn't happen to me....so far, I haven't had any problems in the 2-3 weeks that I have had my car back. It might depend upon the layer thickness. Not sure what mine is though...

I have the same thing and I'm running 214/40/17 up front also.

BTW, I thought the NSX didn't have a frame as discussed in another thread.:D

I have a nice shiny inner fender wall from rub no worries. We also did file down and beat down that small nubbin comming from the back of the well which some of you mentioned,we did that when I needed to run 225/45/17 which is too tall,,,I know but it was a track tire issue, don't ask.

great, thanks guys.

i'll probably grind mine down too.
and now that i have 18s on the way who knows what new problems lie ahead.

we'll see.

thanks again.
