Anyone familiar with Casey (NSX Tech @ Napleton Acura)?

I wouldn't go there for anything more than stuff you would have done at an independent mechanic (e.g. oil changes, brake pad replacements).

I don't have personal experience, but I've heard from numerous sources that they do very little service work on NSXs.

Go to the tech in Schaumburg. He has been working on NSXs since the car was originally introduced. When I went to get my AC converted/charged, he pulled me out of the waiting room and took me out to the garage to inspect the car from underneath. He wanted to show me what the car looks like under real lift. From there, he whipped out his flashlight and we looked over the block, etc. The point is that he's patient, thorough, and knows what the hell he's doing. That's peace of mind.

You're referring to Ted, at Woodfield Acura in Hoffman Estates (847-519-9550). Yup, he's great. I know he's worked on a lot of NSXs. Mine is only one of them, but he's been working on mine since I bought it there in December 1990. That means he's seen a lot of the common NSX problems just on my own car, fortunately or unfortunately  - everything from replacing ball joints, to installing window fix-it thingies, to installing my Bilstein shocks, to, well, a lot of things, too many to list here. He has also rebuilt NSX engines (NOT mine, but other folks' - I had mine towed to him when I had my engine failure, but in my case it was more cost-effective to replace mine than to rebuild, and he did the swap) and transmissions. And, of course, he's done the preventive maintenance on NSXs many times. He's the best, most experienced NSX mechanic in the Chicago area.

Thanks, Ken. Couldn't remember his name at that very moment.
