Do you recommend a full leak down on a 30-40k mile car??
I recommend a leak down everytime anyone buys a car like this.
you can have 1 mile and bad compression if the car detonates.
its not anytime the mileage but rather how the car was taken care of.
also a COMPLETE & EXTENSIVE PPI rather than a "visual/basic inspection" is the only way to give you a piece of mind on the condition of the engine and the over all condition of the car. With compression, leak down, check all fluids and complete inspection. I provide detailed high resolution pictures of the car and
highlight any trouble spots I think the buyer needs to know about. Also I drive out to the house of the seller to minimize opportunity costs for both the seller and buyer. of course the seller can bring their car to be at the request of the buyer.
when someone ask me to do a ppi, they know that they are either getting a good car or a report stating why they should not get.
its definitely cheaper than paying for airplane ticket, taking a day or multiple days off work, not getting what your expecting, forced to pay for ticket back or worse, get a car that has issues with engine, tranny, body, frame.
free advise cost the most. dont be penny wise pound foolish, you get what you pay for.
warmest regards
