Anyone in Portland willing to let me check out their NSX?

Hey guys. I'm considering selling my BMW 540i6 and purchasing an NSX. Thing is, everytime I've seen an NSX in person I never *really* looked at them as if I were going to purchase one. I'd like to meet up with someone or maybe come to one of your meets (if you have them?) and sit in one, check out the ergonomics, build quality, etc.

Any takers?

If you ever find yourself in Seattle I'd be more than happy to let you check out mine. It's pretty modded with a supercharger. So you might want to find a stock one first to get an idea of the car.

Hey I really appreciate the offer. I'm half tempted to drive up there just to check it out if I can't find anyone willing around here, lol. It'd probably be bad for me to see yours first though, like you said. Yours might ruin a stock one for me :P

If you can wait until 2008 you can see mine. Heck, you'll be able to see lots of 'em, 'cause NSXPO 2008 will be in Portland :D.

99% of NSX owners wouldn't let you touches their cars let alone sitting in side (just from my observation). But as SaberX offered you, I for one wouldn't mind if you would like to take my car for a spin to feel for yourself before buying one. But then I am more near by SaberX's area. So if you come up here, you can drive my car and then SaberX can give you a ride (as he gave car enthusiasts rode in before).
So there you have it, best of both world.
Waiting until 2008 and then you might still not be able to sit in one (as most NSX owners would think you might put a dent in the seat cushion)

Bump. I hope I don't have to drive all the way to Seattle to check these out, that's a bit of a drive :)

if you don't want to drive to seattle washington you're more than welcome to come down to san jose california

Sorry buddy but I thnk that Titanium Dave has one of only 2 known NSXs in the portland area:wink: ...maybe when he gets his back on the track he can show you what a good track car feals like.

As of right now it is snowing like mad  up here in Seattle, so I doubt there will be many NSXs on the road up here for a while.

Plenty of cars around in Portland, mine is missing a motor or you could look at/drive it. Mine is not the cleanest example, leans much more toward the the track rat world, and keeps creeping farther down that slippery slope...

Acura of Portland has a 2005 on the floor, go check it out. They have been trying to move it for quite a while, I have seen it in the paper for under $60K! Not sure if they will let you drive it as a looker, but go in with the Bmmer and talk trade and I am sure you will get behind the wheel.

What year are you thinking about?

Hey Dave, thanks for the reply. I thought about test driving a later model but I'm actually looking for a '91-'93 with lower miles rather than a later car with higher miles (unless maybe I could score a clean targa somehow). I only have $30k to spend, and even that's going to stretch my budget quite a bit. Ideally I'd like to spend around $25k but I know the chances of finding a well sorted example for that are extremely slim. I didn't want to drive a later model because I'm afraid it might not accurately represent the earlier models in some way. The Ford dealership near my house (off MLK in NE) had a silver '00 I could've driven but again, I'm trying to check out something in my pricerange. I think they wanted $50k+! It must have sold though, it's not there anymore.

If you want a good example for $25K, better be ready to wait. I would recommend looking at as many cars as you can just to get an idea of what is out there. The newer cars drive about the same as the older ones with low miles so don't be put off by the idea of it feeling like a different car. One of the nice things about an NSX is there were never any major changes in the car through out the whole production run, just tweaks. They all share the same chassis, and suspension, most of the body panels. None of the upgrades were necessary, like you could not stand to drive the 91 till they made some change. All the upgrades made the car nicer, but the 91 is still a damn nice ride, even by today's standard it is a joy to drive and own.

Joey - I just moved up to Eugene, OR, and I am strongly considering selling my stock black/ivory 1991 w/manual trans. I have an offer already for $26k, but I am looking for $28k as all of the maintenance is up to date. Let me know if you want to take a look.
