All CDN cars have the speedo in kilometers and the temp is in Celcius. The VIN is probably a typo.

I suggest you do a search for the VIN on NSXPRIME. There is more to this car than it appears. The HVAC controller can be changed to F from C. (jumper on PCB) The serial number is definitely a Canadian VIN. (8 in the 6th least significant digit)

There is another possibility...the VIN is incorrect ...ie the 8 was added in error.

This is actually a nice find...
It's serial is 000 001.
No matter what's been done to the car, usually the 1st NSX to roll off the production line for that year is a rare find!
I'd buy it if I didn't love mine so much....
Like Bram, I'm suspicious about its Canadian VIN though, if that can be verified, it would be good.

It appeared on EBay a couple of hours ago and the Autocheck shows it being in Canada until 2004 and in PA ever since. It also shows a "duplicate title" in 2009 but being from Canada I don't know what that means if anything.

Actually the first one for Canada. in 96 of that 1 of 3 cars. That's right only 3 1996 NSXs made it to Canada! They are all rare.
I tried looking up with the 8 as a 0. Not a valid VIN. It is Canadain with some other detail not disclosed
