This seat dilemma is giving me more grey hairs than ever!

I think those are Status Carbon Kevlar seats mounted on NSX-R Power seat rails. They had a group buy from Status Racing back in June 2005, I was going to order the Monza seats in red alcantara and with no logo.

I don't think you want to know what they cost!

About $1200.00 per seat and about $1000.00 for each for the power seat rails.

hey Chris,

I never heard of this brand or the seats...how do I contact Status?

Was this in the vendor section?

>RyanITV
>VanceHu
>EvoF575GTC

i believe theyre molded off the Recaro SPG. a bit more snug than the Pole Positions.
the NSX-R has its own unique shape.

I'm not that great at telling which seats are which, but I just know Vance currently has typeR seats and they are alot more than that. NSX1 has them now too..oh and Erick has one currently. Erick knows the retail off hand..

Anil - na2-r red
Tom SocalX - na2-r Red
Vance - na1-r red suede
someone up north cali, DinanM3? - black type-s suede and leather
steve nsx1 - na2-r black - rarest
me - na1 black suede- brokest

a white 05 deserves the real thing.
i think rick should bite the bullet and start financing a pair of real NA2 NSX-R seats.

Look again, these seats are Status Carbon Kevlar seats not NSX-R seats. Vance now have NSX-R NA1 seats after selling them.

I would love to see this seat in person if he's up in NORCAL - hmmmm

Erick, I actually have a 2004 white/onyx and yes a pair of those seats in red suede would be SIIICK but for the money, I'm getting my white Busa' first!

Most likely I'm going to go for the the Bride Stradia Sport in red with the kevlar backing since I already have a pair of the Bride "RO" rails courtesy of another forum member.

I don't even know where to begin looking for a set of OEM NSX-R seats if I wanted them! How do you guys search Yahoo Japan Auctions anyways?

rk

Those have been relisted at that price on and off for months now.

Ok I must not be the only guy that can't read Japanese here....so how do you guys read/bid on these Yahoo Japan Auctions?

I prefer cloth over those shiny black leather - those door panels do look pretty cool.

I'm thinking yellow inserts would be neat to match my soon to be yellow calipers :)

You're completely right, those are the Status "ring" kevlar seats. I have the same pair only mine are the red cloth. They run about $2000 each, and work great for racing, but are VERY unpadded. :frown:

Here's the Status website. They are local for me... out of Monroe, WA.

ok another big QUESTION:

We all know NSX-R OEM, Bride, Recaro's are top notch products so the pricing is without question.

But....why are the pricing between F1spec seats and Status racing so different? They are both imitiation seats right? I'm going to drop by F1spec today just to sit in their seats since they are local and I'll be in SF. But are Status seats a race proven seat or am I missing something here? I was on the Status site and their prices are easily the same as Bride and Recaro that I've seen.

thanks
rick

I don't know about Status seats, but F1spec seats are not FIA approved ($$$).

This was the prices from the group buy in 2005

Status seats are FIA approved.

How come I don't see the "Hockenheim" and the "Monza" models listed on their site?

Do they sell any reclineable buckets?

ok the FIA certification explains the pricing a bit - with those 25% off pricing the seats are right where the Bride/Recaro seats range.

What exactly Status model are the ones that Erick had in his car??? (pic of the first post)

NO!!! DEAD Wrong, Status seats never ever get FIA approved the whole time "Josh @ Autuning" when he introduced the brand. It was always "Pending FIA approval". Ravi aka Kane@ nsxprime later had the distribution, maybe he knows the story behind it.

For most of us, FIA approved or not had nothing to do with us, I guessed only a handful of us taking our nsx to RACEs which requires FIA approval. I've seen and sat on the Status seats and I think they are as good quality as any other Recaro, Sparco and Bride, but then I had never been in crash with any of these seats either.
