Aug. 26th Downers Grove Import Cruise Night

Hey All,

Anyone up for going to the August 26th cruise night in Downers Grove? The theme for the 26th is imports years 1975 and older (Frank correct me if I'm wrong). I think it would be fun to get some more NSXs together, even though the theme isn't explicitly tailored for us. I'm interested to see what kind of cool imports will be crawling out of the woodwork.

There were three NSXs (Bob, Frank, and myself) at last Fridays "Tuner" night. We had lots of fun and met some interesting folks. Might be more fun if we get a bigger gang to go. It's getting to be the end of the show season, so let's go and have some fun!!

It was fun to follow you into Downers Grove last Friday nite and watch people's heads turn when you drove by. I could see people pointing and hear them saying there's an NSX, nice to go somewhere and not be called a vett or F car. Downers is a nice town with friendly people, good food & some interesting cars. Looking forward to another great time on August 26th.

We met last Friday at the Downers Grove cruise night. I won't be able to make it this Friday however. I will be there the 26th.

Oh, I'm sorry! :tongue:

I don't know the name of the street. I think it was a block south of the train tracks off Main St. We were parked just east of Main St.

We had the rock star parking on Curtiss with the rest of the featured cars (the theme was tuner cars and 80s-90s show cars). For Import Cars the 26th, only pre-1975 cars will be allowed on Curtiss. But I'm hoping we can get there early on the 26th and stake out a spot where we can all park together. Perhaps in the lot that is by the train tracks.

DRZZ, do you have the red NSX-T with the chrome rims I always see there?

I have been looking at my schedule and I can make it down from Wisconsin. I hope the weather cooperates.

Hopefully we have good weather and a good turnout on the 26th.

There has been a lot of interest expressed in planning a picnic event near the end of the year when the weather gets nice. Hopefully if a lot of people show we can look at when/where such an event could take place.

What street should we meet on?

If someone can get to the parking lot on the northeast corner of Main and Maple and save some spots, a lot of us could fit there. Otherwise, we can try to go to Curtis Street (if they let us bend the rules a little).

Weather looks OK today (Friday) from where I sit downtown. Perhaps slightly overcast. I think we're going to be fine (knocks on wood).

Lots of good restaurants in downtown Downers Grove. Should be fun.

There is also a Charity Car Show Sunday (Aug 28) at the Alumni Club in Schaumburg. I wasn't sure if I was going to go, maybe drive by and see how it looks.

I should be in Downers Grove 6:00 - 6:30 depending on how Bob's CCU swap goes and how the traffic is leaving Milwaukee and comming in to the Chicago area.
