when i went to clean my terminals recently,i noticed my optima yellow top isn't fastened down.the coated bracket is sitting in front of it,the threaded rods are laying down beside, and i don't see the holes to hook the rods into.mine doesn't have a raised vertical piece with holes in it like the photo on the thread i attached.

i found this thread
http://www.nsxprime.com/forum/showthread.php?t=82599
and others which say the oem bracket is poorly designed and sometimes causes shorts or fires.that didn't get me too excited about trying to hook it up.optimas don't generally spill, and can be mounted sideways, but it still seems like it needs to be tied down,so,do i use this one maybe coated with plasti-dip or tape, get a new oem,or just forget it?it does seem like it can only move a real small amount

just wondering what others were doing.thanks all.

Last i heard about the optima battery are that they had sold it. So its not made by the original manufactuer anymore. Its someone else now. Had red top in other car for a long while, no issue whatsoever. Starts up everytime with no hiccup. So the newest one im not so sure about quality compare to the old.

Sorry Robbie if i was to blunt, Sometimes i get carried away, Just did'nt have luck with my Optima, They are also very expensive,Went back to oem for 89.00 at the dealership,Going on four years trouble free, Fits perfect.

There are round holes at the bottom left and right side towards the back of the battery holder. it is easiest if you spin down the nuts on the rods a bit then thread them through the coated holder and then down 45 degrees to those back round holes. I also have an optima 35 yellow top and it fits perfect.
