Is anyone with the Basch super charger running the cold air intake? If so is it worth the effort? Any noticable improvements? Pics of the installation would be great.

Thanks, that was the first one that came out, I was just wondering how many had it installed and or if any updated kits have been made.

I had done something very similar to my car when I had the BBSC on it. It did seem to make a little difference. Altough I don't think there was any seat of the pants difference but rather in your mind because it sounded a lot cooler.

Amando, if you are thinking about the original 'Home Depot Kit', using rubber hoses, you might be surprised to find that the tubing would actually shrink under vacuum, having the effect of restricting the incoming air, actually reducing boost. This was tested at the dyno, with consistent results on 3 different BBSC cars. I took mine off after finding a 5lb peak, and immediately went back to 6lbs... These are facts, not opinions.

Thanks, I have that kit with the rubber hoses and never installed it for that same reason. I was curious to see if some one had the pipes made to therefore intake ambient air as opposed to heated air from the engine bay.

PS Are you still running the original SS box?

SSBB?

Armando, tomorrow, my NSX returns home from Phoenix, where it has been undergoing some TLC from the Master. It is now equipped with the latest from Split Second/Basch Boost (I opted to retain the Novi 1000 blower). Give me a week or two to get it fully sorted and track it, and I will post the results for all to see.

I am an un-abashed Basch-o-phile:)

It seems to have made a bit of a difference to me, but it may just be placebo effect - I have no before vs. after dyno plots to prove it. Running a fabricated aluminum cold air intake from Basch. Besides, if you have the aftercooler, you really have no room in the engine compartment for the air filter anyway.

NSXTC- your correct on the small amount of space for the airfilter on a car w/ an aftercooler! ! Oh- you should ask MB in a few days on a before and after dyno-test results on an aftercooler that he is installing. On my opinion: I believe with a properly set up aftercooler( ie. good water flow and cooling), will make a considerable difference, especially in AZ!
