My ABS is acting up although I do not get any warning lights on my dashboard.

I want to check my wheel sensors and specifically my rear wheel sensors and clean them if need be and I wonder if there is any specific procedure in doing this.

Can I just use brake cleaner to clean the sensors or might this just actually destroy them?

I would just pop them out, and wipe then down. Although remember these are magnetic pick-coils. Dirt should have little effect on their operation. Make sure you look in the hub cavity to make sure there is nothing metallic floating around in there:).

I would spray a cleaning product on a rag and wipe them down, I would not spray them directly.
