I Know The Car - But Not The Man
This car was built up brand new by a recognized Acura dealership with all the Comptech goodies - supercharger, Brembo, Koni, wheels, wide body kit, etc, etc, etc.
The paint work on the wide body was horrible and had to be re-sprayed several times before the general manager deemed it to be worthy of being sold at their dealership. The body shop at that time was not directly on the dealership's property, so there was a lack of quality management.
Several years ago I was at this dealership having some work done and saw the silver wide body in the service bay with the supercharger off of the engine. I struck up a conversation with the tech about the problem. Having had the exact same symptoms on mine when I had the CTSC, I suggested that the boost valve divert hose came loose. Sure enough, that was the problem.
While I was paying for my bill, the service representative made a sly comment that the owner of the silver NSX was into some sort of "objectionable internet websites" to which I replied, "Well, look at the guy. Does he look like someone you would want to sit next to in church?" We both chuckled, because this guy looked on the creepy side and he did have some known medical problems.
For the folks that think I am making this up, the dealership who built this guy's car also built Lud's car, though Lud was not the original buyer of his blue NSX but this guy was the first purchaer of the silver NSX. No implied association.....just making the point that I know both cars and dealership. In retrospect, the guy surely did look like one to keep your distance from.
Wow, small world.
