Bits of ice shoot from center vents...

I searched through past threads, but couldn't find any answers. I think my evaporator develops ice inside as I drive the car with the air conditioner on. I live in SoCal. I've noticed fog blowing out at one point, so I turned the fan to max and little bits of ice shot out (only through the center vents). I also have noticed an excessive amount of condensation under car (probably about 2-3 cups at times) after I park. This does not happen consistantly, but often. Do I need to worry? My brother tells me that there might be a sensor which keeps this from happening. Please let me know...

I think you are fine. Humidity goes up, so does the foggyness iside the cabin and dampness.

Cool. Your NSX has a weather-maschine inside as it's snowing inside your NSX.

My 91 does the same thing. I was worried at first because when i set it to "full auto" at a normal 70 degree or so temp the vents barely blow at all but the air is cold as could be. When i switch it to manual and crank it all the way up then i get the same fog/ ice that you are experiencing.

Ive been told that this is some what normal.

I also have a LOT of water under my car when i have been running the ac for awhile.

maybe Brian can rig up a syrup dispenser in one of the vents, then snow cones baby!!!

There is a temp sensor in the evaporator to prevent it from icing up. It cuts the compressor when temps are at freezing. It could be out or perhaps it's just off a little? Have you run the self-diagnostics?

Here is some diognostic attachments.

Thanks for the tips and funny additions. My car is at the stereo shop getting the Kenwood 8120 installed so I can't trouble shoot right now. I know that I'm probably a little low on freon since I can see bubbles in the little window. Do you think that could cause the freezing? I think I'll recharge the system and see if it helps. I'll post pics on stereo install later on SoCal...
