Police unravel Pontiac tale of sex, gunshots, drugs and dump trucks

By Tom Greenwood
The Detroit News

Who can resist a story about sex, shots fired, drugs and dump trucks?

At 5:30 a.m. Tuesday deputies from the Oakland County Sheriffs Office responded to a report from a woman who said she had been shot near the intersection of Cass and N. Johnson in Pontiac.

Upon arrival deputies were told that all the parties had fled the scene, but before long the involved female, 24, was located after she drove away from scene in a construction truck she had found unoccupied with the keys still in it.

It was about then that a second construction truck appeared at the scene riddled with bullet holes and a driver who said he didn’t know anything about any shooting.

The driver turned out to be the owner of the truck who said that earlier that night a man and a woman had stolen his truck after he had sex with the woman at her apartment in North Hill Farms.

The truck owner then told deputies that a short time later the man (who was with the woman) returned the truck to him and then he fled the area.

There’s more.

The victim of the stolen truck told police that after the truck was stolen he walked to a nearby residence and called his son’s girlfriend and advised her about what had just happened.

The victim’s son, 26, and his girlfriend walked to the area where his father had been jacked, but while en route they spied the stolen truck at N. Cass and Johnson.

It was then that the victim’s son jumped in front of the truck, pulled a handgun from his waist band and pointed it at the front of the truck. When the truck stopped, he ran to the driver’s side door and attempted to open it.

It was then that the truck accelerated and the man’s son fired shots at the fleeing truck.

We’re not done yet.

While the shots were being fired at the truck, the front seat passenger (the woman who allegedly had sex with the truck owner) jumped out and fled until she found the truck with the keys in it.

She then fled, driving the wrong way on N. Cass and crashed into a pole. Deputies then took her to a substation for an interview during which she denied stealing the victim’s truck or having sex with him.

Both the victim’s son and his girlfriend were located a short time later in a home in the 200 block of N. Cass, after which they were also hauled in to be interviewed.

The son admitted firing shots at the truck and told detectives where he hid the weapon, which happened to belong to his father.

The 28-year-old driver of the stolen truck was located several hours later in the 100 block of Owgeo with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his arm.

The shooting victim told detectives that he did not steal the truck.

In fact, he stated that he and the female had been given the truck to go and buy drugs after the truck owner had sex with the woman for money.

He also added that while driving near N. Cass and Johnson he saw the owner of the truck’s son standing on the side of the road and at this point he “just started shooting at him for no reason.”

The outcome.

The female, who was the front seat passenger in the truck when it was fired upon, was arrested for stealing a second truck and for outstanding warrants.

She is lodged at the Oakland County Jail.

The victim’s son was arrested pending warrants for the shooting. He too is at the Oakland County Jail.

The man who was shot while driving the red construction truck was arrested for larceny and taken to the hospital for treatment.

Just another story from “The P.”

Well sure there are morons everywhere, and Detroit has its share. Pontiac, MI, ( or PontiCrack ) is a similar city, some twenty miles N/NW of Detroit, in Oakland County, MI. Crazy times we live in.

.......ugh. That just made me feel stupid as I just couldn't follow it...and I read it twice...lol.

I love stories about guns and big trucks,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and sex.

Those cops are underpaid. You could do a PhD dissertation based on the report that they had to write for that case.

OIC on this one must have blown a gasket-

Yea, just what I thought. A crime novel within the family and a little outside all that.... I'd file a FOIA letter almost, - - - - just to get and read the real narration of this train wreck(s)
