I know this is nothing compared to a discussion about online gambling spammers but I need help none the less. :)

I just got the 8100 Blackberry Curve for the sole purpose of having my work emails pop up on my phone. I got my personal email address set up to forward, but my company won't allow BES (Blackberry Enterprise Server) access unless they issued me the phone which they did not.

I called Blackberry technical support and they said it is an easy thing to do and all I have to do is set up a copy/forward in my work email exchange to forward to my tmo.blackberry.net address. However, I don't know how to do it and my company is lame and won't do it for me. How do I do it without BES so that it just sends a copy to my blackberry? Thanks.

If you are using MS office outlook, then you can use the help here.

Basically, you set up a rule that says "all messages received should be forwarded to myblackberryaddress"

Thanks, but quick question...does that mean it has to hit my PC before it will forward? Meaning, if I am on the road with my lap top off and in my car, will the emails not forward until I actually turn my computer on and retrieve emails or does it set up the redirect at the server level? Obviously, if my computer has to be on before it will redirect, then there is no reason to even forward the email in the first place.

Thanks.

I think this should do the trick even if your computer is off because the rule should be applied at the server level. Unfortunately my work email server does not seem to let me do this so i can't test it out for myself.

I'm pretty certain this is outlook evaluating the message and doing the forwarding, if so then yes, you would need to have outlook running SOMEWHERE parsing the incoming email. What you want is a rule set up directly on the Exchange server, and this isn't something you can do yourself. The guy who sets this up would be the same guy that could just enable your blackberry to pick up the email directly.

Probably one of the concerns is that if the company issues it and it's lost, they can remotely wipe all the email on your blackberry. If it's yours, perhaps there are issues with doing that.
