Just thought I'd post up these dyno sheets of Dali Racing's Stage 2 Boostzilla Kit and is definitely the best bang for the buck if you are searching for a S/C kit with an engine management system. This particular vehicle is using an HKS FCON V-PRO system. The V-PRO can only be tuned by an HKS PRO Dealer such as ourselves here at SP Engineering. The car used is a 1998 6spd with a Comptech header and Comptech Exhaust with the cats in still in with boost levels at 8.8psi.

The vehicle previously was maxing out at 350hp on the CTSC on 7psi on the SNOW water injection kit with the HKS FCON V-PRO system.

#29 is off the AEM Water Injection, HKS V-Pro, Boostzilla Stage 2 Vortech
#32 is on the AEM Water Injection, HKS V-Pro, Boostzilla Stage 2 Vortech

wow..I am assuming stock internals?..can you post pics of the kit installed?

With proper tuning, stock internals are good to at least that much, our BOOSTZILLA test car #1 is running a stock internals 3.2L (except for a billet oil pump gear) - basically the same kit as we installed on Williams car #2 above - with similar numbers. Pix of the kit and our old dyno charts etc are on the website. As soon as I heard he was +3HP over ours we tweaked our kit to 426RWHP and 303LBFT.

3.0L numbers with the usual headers and exhausts installed will be 370 to 380RWHP.

William and I have "preproduction kits" - the new non intercooled ones look like this:

John, You know you can have one anytime. It is going to be raining at your place for the next 4 months Come down for some sun.

Yes, more info and pics would be great.

More info and pix are posted here.

** Please note:
  • There are no "kits in a box" - all installs & initial tunes are done at our shop here.
  • If you have had a NOS kit, a BBSC, or one of LA Larrys Turbo "kits" on your car previously, do not call us unless you want to include a full motor rebuild as part of the deal.

Nice price...looks good.

How does it feel? Is there lag at all, or is it very drivable? How does it compare to a roots type blower...I'm just curious if this is a dyno queen or a easy to drive system....

Nice work for sure, if John is busy, I may send my car down instead!

it's hardly a dyno queen kit, the whole point was to make it work properly at part throttle.. OK, well Williams car is a garage queen, just look at it. I track mine, the others are daily driver street cars. Everyone that owns one likes it.

You are welcome to join the club anytime.

Thanks for the invite...I'm saving my pennies as we speak.

How long do you generally need a car for? (I'm assuming your doing the install).

HA - I wish. I have a Master Wrench Twirler to do that. We like to have the car for 3 days so nothing is rushed, the install takes about 22 shop hours + the before baseline and after dyno adjustments.

Any other service or repair items would add time to that.

Mark,

Any chance that you will eventually "authorize" a Midwest (Barnman), Acura of Brookfield or East Coast (Larry B), etc shop to do installs?

San Diego is a long way away...

I was just about to email Mark with the same question.

I am biased by location, but Acura of Brookfield would seem to be a great choice for an installation partner. They installed at least 50 CTSCs over the years.

If you can get John Vasos to recommend and AoB to install this kit, I am confident you would make a number of sales in the midwest. I would very likely be one of them.

I don't mean to rush you and I know you are evaluating this issue, I merely wanted to provide some information from someone who is active in the midwest NSX community.

There are several reasons why we have not done this -

I didn't price the kit with an added layer of fluff for 2 tier distribution. That means there is currently no $ in it for the reseller.

Any potential install facility would need to be an HKS Pro Dealer in order to have the hardware key to adjust the fuel management software. That's one of the reasons we picked The F-CON - besides the fact it works better, and costs less, there less potential for homebrew "tunes" to be emailed around like with the AEM. They would also need access to a dyno to tune it on. (that is part of the Pro Dealer deal)

The way I look at it, based on what I've read over the years on this forum, (where everyone clearly knows more about FI in general and my kit in particular than I do) having a wider distribution network just increases the potential for more long distance headaches far more than than it does any potential for more profit from more sales. I prefer assessing each candidate for the install carefully before committing to it. I've turned away more cars than we have put the kit on.

When we get the base Stage 1 kit dialed, since it uses the same kind of CTSC style fuel management technology, we might revisit this as all it would require for proper adjustment is a dyno.

**A note about Williams car - Typical Stage 2 cars (like mine) run ~ 6.6PSI, his pulley is smaller, hence the higher boost. It seems like it ought to be putting out a little more....
