I'm a new owner of a 2000 NSX #246 ... I have the common issue of the pop/crackle/static out of the speakers and I believe I need to have the speaker amplifiers rebuilt - does anyone have any experience with the guys at Bose Central [http://bosecentral.net/index.html] ? looks like they will rebuild all three for ~$150 vs. ~$90 per amp.... really didn't want to experiment with a new vendor if other have had issues.... Love to get any feedback or recommendations.

Thanks in advance.

WELCOME to NSXPrime!

We had a local guy rebuild all the common electronics that often cause problems with our NSX'es, but in the process he could not find the Bose IC for the subwoofer amp.

While he searches for another contemporary Acura product that might use the same Bose chip, I've sent him the link to BoseCentral with crossed fingers that they might have what we need.

You used to be able to order brand new ones directly from Bose for very cheap- not sure if they are still doing that, but might be worth it to contact Bose directly. It has worked for owners in the past.

Sent my 92s back the Bose HQ. They repaired and returned back with minimal charge. Not sure who did the repair but still work factory fresh now. I would try Bose 1st.

dfrancis do you have a link or email for "Bose HQ" that you used for repair?

By their own admonition, "bosecentral.com" is not associated with the Bose Corporation in any official capacity. However, $50 per amp repair is a good price, though they don't list their success rate....some repairs require new IC's which they don't have. Just replacing the caps and hoping they work is a bit weak IMHO.

Willman, BrianK, and Heineken (EU) are the service providers typically used by the forum members.
