Does anyone know if the Enkei RP-01 (OEM NSX-R) will clear the Brembo Lotus Caliper?
And if not, how much of a spacer is necessary?

Basically I am looking for a low cost set of track wheels, that will clear the Brembo brake's without spacers. Any type of wheel will do. 17/17 would be the ideal size.
*Cheap* being the operative word.

The Enkei RP01 is not the OEM NSX-R wheel. At least I'm pretty damn sure it's not. I've seen pictures of the OEM NSX-R wheels. They're a 15/16" wheel, and they look totally different (and totally cool).

Anyway, as to whether it'll fit, I'm not sure. It's gotta be close, because the front 17x8s are +38mm offset, and there's a lot of room behind the spokes. I wish you had posted earlier, because I have RP01s, and I was down in Vancouver, WA for New Years, I could have met up with you and we could have test-fit them (if you've already got brembos).

I live up in Sammamish Washington (just east of Redmond, about 180miles from Vancouver). If you're going to be up in this area, let me know, and we can do a test-fit.

Also, Fordahl Motorsports in Bellevue has done some track-preparation on an NSX, and it has, I believe, a Comptech Brembo kit, and for some time they were using Enkei RP01s. They had problems with I think two wheels cracking, and have since repaired the wheels and use them as street wheels. They were using Hoosier RS303s, though. They were also using 18x?? on the back, and I believe it was only rears they had a problem with. I also for some reason seem to think they *may* have had to do some minor machining of the front wheels to clear the calipers, but I honestly don't remember.

FYI, they weigh about 20-21 lbs for the 17x8, and about 22 lbs for the 17x9 I'm using in the back. If I remember correctly, and if my scale was accurate.

Anyway, I've been using them for probably about a year now, and have put lots of miles (20k probably) on them, including NSXPO '01 at Road America, and have had no problems with bending / cracking.

And they are *cheap*. I got 'em for $200/wheel, and they've since come down in price. Last I checked I think they were about $150/wheel at Discount Tire Direct.

Hrm. Weird. Cuz last time I talked to Eddie Lee, he mentioned something about running a Miata in the OTC with someone else.

Yeah, get this guys,
Eddie Lee + Telly Chang are competing in a Mica Blue Mazda Miata.
Eddie Nakato (me) + Mike Wann are competing in a Mica Blue Mazda Miata with the exact same setup (+/-5%) as the Lee-Chang team.

Can we say confusing?
