I left my shop at 3:00 am Saturday morning with my biz partner. We drove from Huntington Beach (near Disneyland) to Superstitious Spring Arizona.

We got there around 9:30 am. By 1:00 pm, my biz partner drove off with a brand new 2008 S2000 CR with A/C package, the only white one we can find, for $28000 plus tax. $10k off the sticker price.

They took a -$49xx.xx deal.

Amazing.

They still have a Apex Blue S2k CR if some one is looking for it. Asking price of $27988. This one is the base model so I'm sure they have some room.

I didn't expect the deal to go through on Friday afternoon because we were pertty demanding on the price. The general sales manager give me his cell and we talk more about it on Friday night. After every thing fall into place, we decided at midnight that after I close my shop, we can take a road trip out.

Nice town, I like it!!! Can't imaging the summer heat though.

What can you get for $28K (new) that is a drop top, goes 0-60 mph in 5.5s, and offers those levels of grip and handling?

Of course you can find it cheaper. Haven't you heard? Every one is a car expert and every one claim the car can be bought cheaper some where else, after the person have already bought.

Like AK said, he found a moon rock in his nose, I hope it's not part of his brain.

Actually it doesn't surprise me. Car dealers are really hurting now and with a lot of used S2k on the market, the new ones are probably not selling as fast. Either way, it's still a good deal.

I am drooling over the 06's/07's. They are 12-14k off the new price with no miles. If I get lucky on a huge trade I'm going to go buy one just for the hell of it.

Well, they still have that blue CR at the same dealership.

Thing is, apparently S2000 auction prices are increasing fairly quickly these days. If you're buying, it might be a good time NOW. Used prices apparently are not dropping but are actually starting to climb.

West coast buyers are snapping them up. California convertibles command top dollar, I guess.

I follow the market pretty close, I haven't noticed that in the used market at all. Has to be a floor near these levels regardless though.

This reminds me of my S2K story.
I found it at a VW dealer. It was dead of winter and the sales man told me that he's had it there for a while. He said no one would come to them looking for that kinda car, especially in the winter. It was one-year-old, had 22000 miles and was priced at an even $30K. I told him I'd go get the loan from my CU right away if they'd give me a good deal.

Walked out of there paying $21k!

It's also seasonal. Spring and summer is sneaking up soon.

Great deal...will be interesting to see how the CR's value will hold in a few years since it's limited production numbers like the Zanardi's.

I talked to Scott P at Bankston Honda and he was telling me about the prices being paid for S2000s at auction these days. So, I'm giving second hand information but he should know what's being paid...

As I said, the cars are going to the West Coast, so expect prices there to rise first. If the trend continues, you'll probably see prices rise here in Texas as well.

If the Integra Type R is a good indication, I think it will hold up the value quite well when the economy revives. The word is, 1400 CR in 2008 and only special order for 2009, so I doubt there will be more than 2000 S2k CRs. The number is on par with the Integra Type Rs.

But the ITR, unlike the CR, made 25 more horses than the next most powerful Integra, the GS-R.
Yes, but it is still 45 HP shy and FF.

Only history will tell:smile:

I think we will get another wave of young Honda enthusiasts who will have no choice but to move into S2k territory because clean cheap Integras are getting very hard to find, not to mention five years from now.

The CR is not quite a Type R, but it is above the JDM type S. If Honda don't bring any more high performance cars in the near future, the CR will have a promising resale value.

Well there down incredibly right now. Basically around $20k for trade in so auction maybe lower. On Autotrader though prices are back up so Vance biz partner did get a good deal.

The salesman called me and as me if I refereed some one from NSXPRIME for the blue one, they got an e-mail with no phone number. Any one here jumped on it?
