Can't connect to CHA-S634.

I just installed the Alpine CHA-S634 cd changer and the two adaptor cables (KCA-130B and ACU/HON-ALP) but the original head unit doesn't see the drive. Is there something I need to do to initialize it? It powers up fine. The original cd changer was working but I wanted mp3 capabilities. Any Ideas?

HA! I had switched it to # 2 but as a last resort, I read the instructions. It said you needed to make the switch with the cable unplugged, which was my error. Had I waited 5 more minutes, you could have saved me from reading the instructions.
