They seem very similar in design, sound, price. However, the Cantrell eliminates the drone found in the GTLW?

Any comments or experiences with those who have heard BOTH? thanks

The cantrell is a knock off of the original GTLW, its produced in the US, and uses a different packing material, and thicker structure... my understanding is its intended as an improved 'tribute' to the taitec GTLW, the same design, with slight changes, intended to produce something better.

The GTLW is the original, its a known product, that produces good power and is lightweight, I would lean towards the Taitec.

I always wondered about the "drone" since I never had it in my GTLW (or I'm oblivious to it). YMMV but I have no problem w/ my GTLW. That said, I haven't driven my car regularly in over 2 years.

Scorp's comments are accurate according to previous discussions about the two.

Having had the GTLW on both my old 1991 and now the Zanardi, I believe the droning is only an issue with the 3.0 motors with a stock manifold. I believe the 97+ manifold or headers change the frequency band enough to eliminate the drone.

Synth,

Get the Taitec GT lightweight!

I had it on my former 91 and now I'll be ordering it for my 02 Imola. Everyone who has come to see me here has loved the sound of the Taitec GT when we've gone for a drive. Loud when you want it to be, rumble is there while cruising, and its just liveable for everyday driving.

Plus its way lighter than the stock exhaust...
