I got my car back on Sat. March 19.The car runs strong and smooth. It will be dynoed this week end and I plan to see what it will do at the track(1/4 mile).Boost gauge is showing 11 lbs. I would like to see that go to 13 or 14.

Congrats!:) Let us know what it does on the dyno, and on the track. BTW, is this setup intercooled/aftercooled?

Yes it has a air/water intercooler or should I say aftercooler.

Thats killer, Killer! Lots of special NSX's making it back on the road in tip-top shape for nice weather! Hopefully I'll be joining htose ranks soon . . till then . . PEACE!

Thank you.

I will be curious to see your dyno also, i hope to up my boost to 11 lbs in the next couple weeks. do you have 550 injectors? last time i tried to tune to 11 lbs I ran lean at 5000 rpm's with 500 rc's at 58 fuel pressure. who did your final tune? I would love to see a copy of your SS map if you don't mind.. i am very curious about the different strategies for tuning with the ssbb. PM me if you have time
thanks

I ran the car 2x tonight. The best run was a 13.2 at 109 mph.Ourtime slips didn't have any 60 ft times so its har to say if I could have run faster.I feel there is alot more in the car with some more tuning and turning the boost up 2 to 3 lbs.

Here is a list of my upgrades.

Low boost rebuild w/ 9.5 to 1 JE pistons.
BBSC Novi 2000 11lbs.
660cc injectors.
Air to water aftercooler.
AEM electronics.
Wideband O2 sensors.
Comptech headers.
RM Racing exhaust.

Something sure does not sound right here. Devin ran 11.9 @ 118 with his setup and I don't think it was making 13 lbs of boost. You should be in a similar range. Your time is slower than a 1997 stock, which leads me to think something is not correct. I guess we will see the dyno shortly.

dyno is all that matters....1/4 mile times are all about skill not power....

I disagree. The time is about skill, the MPH are about power.

My wife will run consistently 2 sec slower than me even though her reaction times are better (no effect on times) with more consistent 60 ft times.

GSX, 2.4 Liter, FP red, etc, etc, etc.
NSX -- someday

Exactly. Assuming there was no missed shift or other problem with the run, the trap is way too low for the car to be making the kind of power it should be at 11 PSI. A 6 PSI CTSC on a 3.0 should run better than 109. There is a guy on here with a bone stock NA1 that trapped at 106.

My first and only time drag racing a couple years ago in my old red nsx with catback exhaust/intake ran 13.2@106mph and then 13.3@107mph on the second and last pass.

v8killer, if you just got your car back on the 19th, have you broken it in properly before taking it to the strip? I notice you had a lower CR build up.....

Either way, you have all the pieces so I'm sure you can get it working rite. Since you have the wideband installed, what were you afr's during the runs, or what do they look like on the street at wot through third gear? Since you have the aem, hopefully you were able to use its datalogging ability.. it has helped me a lot lately... :-)

edit: damn public schools!

...thank you, thank you

[email protected] mph, bone stock.

Yeah, there's definitely something waay off about your trap speed you put down. (should be between to 115-to-118MPH with your current mods at THAT boost)

Did you get the car dynoed yet? I know you were planning on it friday when prime went down. :frown:

At 11 PSI our motors are taking in around 2/3 extra air, so they can burn 2/3 extra fuel and tuned right will make a little less than 2/3 extra power than a stock one. Like no matter what at 11 psi it should make a SOLID 50% extra power with that much oxygen getting stuffed in.

So you would agree it should be running WAY faster in the 1/4.

Yes I think it ought to be in the 380-400RWHP neighborhood and way more than a SMIDGEN over a stock NSX in 1/4 times.

I agree. Somewhere between 115-120 MPH. If Devin ran 118, this car really should be faster than that.

I couldnt really say whether that is all that off or not. I recently took my car to the track and got a 1/4 of 14.1 @ 98 mph. versus a stock nsx making a run of 14.4. I have basically the same setup as you:

Low boost rebuild w/ 9.5 to 1 JE pistons.
BBSC Novi 1000 8lbs.
550cc injectors.
AEM electronics.
Wideband O2 sensors.
DC exhaust.

Minus the aftercooler, smaller injectors and no headers.

My timeslip was realitively decent with an R/T of .533 and a 60' of 2.2.

So on the same token my times seem to be way off of expectation as well. I am interested to see what comes of this thread and if any solutions are found.

On a side note perhaps you can post your time slip for review?

Was that before or after your latest tune. That time is WAY off what even a stock NSX should do.
