We are getting a small contingency of NSX's in the quad cities.
Anyone interested in a group drive to Road America one of the following weekends: BRIC(7/17-18), GPRA (8/7-8), RA 500 (8/21-22)? BRIC and RA 500 are touring events (drive our cars on the track). Let me know if anyone is interested. Probably would head up Friday afternoon and head back home Saturday pm.
Plenty of accomadations nearby. BTW, other marques welcome.

I will be up at RA for one or more of those events, just not sure on the scheduling at the moment.

I'll keep you posted if it looks like I can join the caravan.

Jim I will be at all of those the races just let me know where you are planning on parking. PM me for my cell number if you want it.

More info on these events, for those who might be interested.

BRIC -- the vintage racing weekend
GPRA -- looks like CART
RA 500 -- sporstcar racing (ALMS + SPEED World Challenge)

I'd be interested in meeting up at the RA 500 event, particularly if both WC Touring and GT cars are running.

Thanks for your interest!, I'll probably go to both the Brian Redmond Int'l Challenge and the RA 500. I may have another NSX
and a 350Z joining us out of the quad cities.

I will be @ the BRIC on Sunday, and all 4 days for the 500!

Are you going to the BRIC after the NSX brunch in Northbrook?

Do you want to meet up to drive to Northbrook? I assume you will in my general vicinity.

I will be working on a deck at my house, and am able to "sneak" away just Sunday, so I will head straight there from my place. I usually park by the track map sign just outside of the track @ the 13 bridge. I have my RSR on now! Hope to see you there.

I may try to sneak away sat to hit the city of Elkhart Lake for the concours and some drinks, but NOT the track on Sat.

I went up solo, the other NSX and the Z couldn't make it. Touring sold out before I got there. There were 200 cars touring! I'm used to about 40-50 cars. I would have been torqued if I had paid $75 bucks for that! The weather was great and the F1 cars were awesome.

We did the touring on Sunday, and ran 80-100 mph, and passed everywhere including corners. It was one of the best BRIC touring events that I can remember.

If you want the best, check out the SVRA touring events!! No speed limit, and only like $35 or so.

You guys got lucky. SVRA in 2003 was no passing, and cars were kicked out (Elise) or scolded (myself) for safely passing slow cars between 3 and 5.

Went touring at the Sprints earlier this year. Small field (maybe 40) and a lot of cars bowed out early. By the end, we were pushing triple digits between the carousel and Canada corner. (was driving the S2000)
Seems like touring is often a crap-shoot, sometimes you get lucky.

Jim, were you Touring at SVRA in 2003? I remember running in a pack with a SC'd S2k and the Elise.

I toured twice last year, once with the N, once with the S. Can't remember if I went during the SVRA or not. I have a naturally aspirated S2000 and my father-in-law would have been riding shotgun so I doubt I was mixing it up too much. BTW, haven't toured with the NSX this year yet, it was getting a body kit installed in June and they were sold out last time.

For those interested in a bit more action than speed-limited laps...

Several clubs still have driver-ed events at RA this season. At least one BMW chapter still has room -- OctoberFast on Sep 25-26.

See the Badger event info page for more details.

Manuel,
Are you doing this one?

Saturday the 7th at RA

Anybody going to Road America this Saturday? I am going Sat morning in the NSX coming back Sat Night. (traffic is to bad on Sunday!) I start my day in turn 1.

I'm still waiting to hear back from the organizers, to see if they can use the help. A little birdie told me that they MAY have lost their pre-event Friday lapping day for instructors and advanced students due to "unfortunate schedule conflicts".
