Well heres what i got; The car makes a grinding kind of noise when in gear and rolling. I was told to look for either a bad wheel bearing or maybe something small caught between the rotor and inside brake pad.

The mechanic that looked at my 91 MT says that it is the right side carrier bearing thats making the noise and that i should probably replace the axle assembly.

What do you guys think? Does this sound about right and if so what would be a fair price for the repair?

Thanks in advance again guys.

Do you have to open the case up for that job? If so, look at the syncros as well. Hopefully not.

If you've got more time than money, try greasing up the CVs and putting a little grease on the splines first.

I'm actually a little short on both right now but i try not to neglect my cars needs. I will probably pay to have the job done, i just want to make sure that it will fix the problem and i don't want to have to pay for something other than what i need.
