Cart Cancels RA Race.

What a drag looks like Road America didn't anty up the Franchise Fee to Cart so they canceled the event this Summer. I just wonder if the Speed GT and Touring will still run there those days.

Bummer.

Don't know -- SWC is usually a support race for CART/ALMS/etc. When ALMS cancelled the DC event this year (Caddy GP at RFK), SWC cancelled as well.

In my Paper tonight Road America restored to the Cart schedule... looks like Mario had something to do with it since it will be re-named the Mario Andretti Grand Prix at Road America same date Aug 3 now I can get fired up again.

The road to the 2003 Vanderbilt Cup just got a bit longer and will now again wind through one of the most historic racetracks in North America as Championship Auto Racing Teams and Road America announced the restoration of this year’s Champ Car World Series event at the Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin track.

The event will take place on the 4.048-mile Elkhart Lake course from July 31-August 3, and will be known as the Mario Andretti Grand Prix at Road America in recognition of the former champion's efforts to get the event restored.

Another great opportunity to spectate at RA.

I take it SWC is still running with ALMS this year -- IMO the best combo weekend for sportscar racing fans
